The Methodist Home for Nursing & Rehabilitation existing facility consisted of a five story building constructed in the 1920’s and a five story addition completed in 1986, in total encompassing approximately 86,000SF. Central Consulting and Contracting was retained as General Contractor to undertake a comprehensive upgrade to the fatigued infrastructure and other related work.
As the Home was fully occupied, the construction was performed in phases to maintain operations and sensitivity to the residents and staff.
The project scope included new air conditioning systems and modifications to extend the sprinkler system to include the entire building. The project also updated the electrical infrastructure, including installation of a new emergency generator. Exterior work included roof and parapet repair and replacement.
