Project Completion Date:

Project Size S.F.:

Englewood, NJ

This major project included several interrelated components in and around the Berrie Building on the Englewood campus and enabled the Hospital to expand services and provide improved access for their patients and visitors.

The project included the construction of three Linear Accelerator Vaults, a three story vertical expansion and a renovation to the first floor to accommodate the relocation of the Radiation Therapy Department.

The fully occupied, 90,000 SF, three story Berrie Building had originally been built with the structural capacity for additional floors. The new three story expansion added a total of 74,000 GSF to the structure. The Breast Care Center occupies the new fourth floor (moving from the 3rd floor), Medical Offices are on the fifth and sixth floors. The space vacated by the Breast Center on the 3rd flor was renovated for new inpatient operating rooms.

Previously, the building housed Oncology, Ambulatory Surgery, Out-Patient Radiology and a Breast Care Center. As part of this construction several Departments were reorganized and relocated including: Pre Admission Testing, Admitting & Patient Registration. All construction was performed around the fully occupied building. Central Consulting worked closely with the Hospital to ensure that disruptions to on-going operations were minimized.

As Project Manager Central was also responsible for pre-qualification and selection of the project team, providing accurate project cost and schedule data to ensure that the goals of the Master Plan were met.
